Tikkun HaKlali, the General Remedy in Hebrew, is a collection of ten Psalms Rebbe Nachman revealed and strongly recommended to his followers.
This printing of Tikkun HaKlali features a transliteration adjacent to the original Hebrew text, giving people who don't know Hebrew the ability to pronounce the Hebrew using only English characters. It also has a complete English translation of the Hebrew, as well as verse by verse translation into modern Hebrew, which elucidates some of the ancient meaning and vocabulary that's sometimes lost.
The General Remedy was known in Kabbalah for hundreds of years as a special order of Tehillim (Psalm) that has the power to correct spiritual blemishes caused by sin. Its exact formula was unknown, until Rebbe Nachman revealed its order being Psalms 16, 32, 41, 59, 77, 90, 105, 137, and 150.
Many have the custom to say it daily, while others say it periodically. Rebbe Nachman said he was confident in all his advice, but was especially confident of the power of reciting the General Remedy. He particularly recommended it after experiencing a nighttime seminal emission, which brings with it a strong force of spiritual impurity. He recommended his followers to read Tikkun HaKlali the next day after immersion in a Mikvah, and not to worry about this blemish any more.
